About Us
Why Choose YESS?
Qualified Staff
YESS offer a highly trained team of specialist clinicians. All of our staff are qualified in their chosen field and are accredited by the relevant professional bodies including BACP, BABCP, BAAT and HCPC.
Differing Modalities
At YESS we recognise and value the differences of each child. Therefore, we have developed a highly skilled staff team with expertise across a range of treatment modalities including counselling, art therapy, dance and movement therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and systemic family practice.
Experienced Staff
We appreciate that school staff are not mental health specialists. However, school staff are well placed to observe children day-to-day and identify behaviour which suggests that the child may be suffering from a mental health problem or be at risk of developing one. Our staff at YESS are happy to liaise with staff and provide support and guidance around areas of risk and also protective factors.
Safeguarding
All of our staff have completed safeguarding training and each member of staff is also fully insured and has a clear DBS.
Evidence Based Practice
At YESS we use evidence based outcome measures to inform us about the impact our service is having. Using routine outcome measures (ROMS) including R-CADS (depression, social anxiety, general anxiety, OCD, and separation anxiety), SDQ (strengths and difficulties questionnaire), Goal Based Outcomes, and ORS (Outcome Rating Scale).
Multi Disciplinary Approach
Our staff recognise the value of a multi-disciplinary approach. We will liaise with school staff and contribute to professional meetings as appropriate. We will also provide end of therapy reports to supplement this.
Referral Process
There are two core methods of referral to YESS.
This includes:
- Referral from a school we have a Service Agreement with.
- Self-referral as a private client.
All referrals that are received by YESS are reviewed by the Senior Therapist or Service Lead to ensure that they are appropriate, and that our service is suitable for the client’s needs and we may signpost on to other providers.
Trustees
The Board of Trustees determines policy and, together with senior staff at YESS, sets the strategic direction for the charity. Trustees have ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the organisation, ensuring it is solvent, well-run, and delivering the outcomes for which it has been set up.
Our dedicated and experienced staff are here to provide a range of support to our clients.
